Top Hanukkah Books for Babies, Toddlers & Kids (up to 10 years)

My son received a few Hanukkah books as gifts recently and can't get enough of them!  I  want to get him some more, so I polled the moms in my Facebook deals group for their recommendations and they came through (as always)!  The recommended ages are from the moms in the group, not the official recommendations.

Happy Hanukkah, Curious George tabbed board book, by H. A. Rey and Margret Rey

Recommended for ages 2 - 6 years.

This book was the clear winner among the Facebook group members.  I'm buying it!

Where is Baby's Dreidel, by Karen Katz

Recommended for ages 6 months - 3 years.

This is a cute lift the flap book that introduces the key Hanukkah foods and rituals.  My almost three year old still enjoys.  All the books in this series are cute!

How Do Dinosaurs Say Happy Chanukah? by Jane Yolen  (Author),‎ Mark Teague (Illustrator)

Officially recommended for grades K-2.  My son, however, has been enjoying it since before he turned two.  I've also seen his teacher read books in this series to his class of two to three year olds.

This is my personal favorite from our collection of Hanukkah books!  I'm not alone -- everyone in my home gets a kick out of it (grandparents too).

Elmo's Little Dreidel (Sesame Street), by Naomi Kleinberg  (Author),‎ Christopher Moroney (Illustrator)

Recommended for babies to age three years.

This book got a lot of votes from the group!

Grover's Eight Nights of Light, by Jodie Shepherd (Author),‎ Joe Mathieu (Illustrator)

Recommended for ages 2.5 - 5 years.

I personally find this book to have great illustrations but to be a bit wordy.  My almost three year old loves it (though he has never come across a Sesame Street book that he didn't enjoy.  I will say that it puts a really festive spin on the holiday.

Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins, by Eric A. Kimmel  (Adapter),‎ Trina Schart Hyman  (Illustrator)

Recommended for ages three years+ (though one mom says her two year old enjoys it).

This book has a lot of words and is a bit scary, but if that sounds like a match for your child it is supposed to be excellent!

Light the Menorah, by Jannie Ho (Illustrator)

Recommended for ages 2.5 - 5 years.

My son loves interactive books and enjoys pulling the tab to light the menorah.

The Hanukkah Mice, by Ronne Randall  (Author),‎ Maggie Kneen (Author)

Recommended for age 5 years+.

Daddy Christmas and Hanukkah Mama, by Selina Alko  (Author)

Recommended for ages 2 - 8 years.

This book was recommended for interfaith families.

When Mindy Saved Hanukkah, by Eric Kimmel (Author),‎ Eric A. Kimmel  (Author),‎ Barbara McClintock  (Illustrator)

Recommended for ages 5 - 10 years.

Miracle Lights: The Chanukah Story! by Moshe Moscowitz (Author),‎ David Sokoloff (Author),‎ Shazak Productions (Author)
