I'm a strong proponent of reading to babies and children.   I will use any excuse to buy books for my son, including Valentine's Day!  Here is my list of recommended Valentine's Day themed books for babies and toddlers. For more book recommendations, see my list of favorite books for the first year and beyond.

Love from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle

This is a new release from Eric Carle, featuring The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  It is very sweet and features familiar items from the original book.

Pete the Cat: Valentine's Day Is Cool

Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes is our favorite in this series, but this one is pretty cute too.  Writing a Valentine's Day card is part of the story and the book comes with 12 cards for your child to make his own, a poster and stickers.  So this is a book plus activity in one, you really can't go wrong! If your family loves Pete the Cat you might also consider Pete the Cat's Groovy Guide to Love.

Fancy Nancy: Heart to Heart

The Fancy Nancy books are extremely popular among little girls.  I haven't seen this one in person but the reviews look great and it includes stickers!

Happy Valentine's Day, Mouse!

This is a super sweet and simple book.

Llama Llama I Love You

This is another sweet story from a series that is probably familiar to your child.

Huggy Kissy

There is nothing not to love about this Leslie Patricelli book.

Create Your Own Photo Book

I made a photo book for my son a few weeks ago and he loves it.  You can create a keepsake one or a more simple and durable one (or both).

Keepsake Photo Book

Simple Photo Book

I went this route.  What I like about the book that I used is that it is soft so it is very baby-friendly, it has tabs that make it easy to turn the pages, and it has a handle that makes it easy for baby to grab and hold and for you to attach to the stroller with a toy leash (I like this one).

You can create a keepsake photo book with Mixbook.  They start at under $10 and you can get 50% off through 2/8/16 by clicking here or on the image below.

I hope that you enjoyed this post!  What are your favorite Valentine's Day gifts to and from children?  Please share in the comments!
